TICKETS are selling fast for Viva Youth Theatre’s production of Smike the Musical.

Smike is a pop musical based on Nicholas Nickleby and tells the story of a group of restless school children who go back in time to the world of Charles Dickens - and see for themselves the advantages in living in the 21st Century!

Smike was created in 1973 by East Enders’ composer Simon May in collaboration with Roger Holman and Clive Barnett. It was mounted as a major BBC TV production that Christmas starring Beryl Reid.

“We’re having great fun rehearsing it. I have the privilege of working with a wonderfully talented group of young people and I’m sure this will be a truly magnificent show,” said Josh Schumann who is making his directional debut with Smike.

Smike will be performed at The Brook in Soham, from February 2-4 at 7.30pm. There will also be a matinee performance on Saturday, 4 at 2.30pm. The venue will be transformed with stage extensions and tiered seating.
