Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire is being staged at The Arts Theatre, in Cambridge, from May 1-5.
Everyman is a king and Stanley Kowalski is no exception - until the summer his sister-in-law Blanche comes to stay. Anxious, seductive and fiercely clever, Blanche is just about keeping it together. But her arrival threatens Stanley’s entire way of life. As the temperature soars and passions intensify, a burning desire threatens to tear their world apart.
★A bold revival of Tennessee Williams’ timeless masterpiece is a raging portrayal of what it means to be an outsider, in a society where we are all desperate to belong.
Director Chelsea Walker said: “It’s rare to find a play that feels so completely contemporary and emotionally epic. I hope Streetcar will spark debate about the world we live in.”
Shows are at 7.45pm, with matinee performances on Thursday and Saturday at 2.30pm.
Tickets from £19-£34 from the box office on: 01223 503333 or: www.cambridgeartstheatre.com.
