CONGRATULATIONS to 14-year Erik Bell, who won the Ely Folk Festival logo design competition.

As his prize, the King’s Ely pupil will receive a family pass to the festival, and art supplies from sponsors Tindalls.

Competition organiser Fionnuala Lennon said: “The judges, including artist Ted Coney and Zoe Davidson from ADeC, thought that Erik’s winning design was fun, colourful, retro and encapsulated the family-friendly nature of the festival.”

His winning design will appear on festival tee shirts and other festival merchandise.

The designs submitted by nine-year-old Emma Richards from Little Thetford Primary School and Anna Deas, a 14-year-old pupil from King’s Ely, were highly commended, and they too will receive art supply token prizes as runners-up.

A selection of the designs submitted to the competition will be on display at the Ely Folk Festival stall at Eel Day on 4th May.
