Mayor’s Party in the Park at Ely will be a seven-hour music extravaganza

IT’S time to party! The Mayor’s Party in the Park - a seven hour music event at Cherry Hill in Ely - takes place on Sunday, June 2.

Topping the bill will be the Abba UK tribute band, along with local bands Soulved and Just William and the Outlaws.

Other local bands and acts will perform, and there will be a number of displays and activities. There will also be a beer tent, and refreshments available at the party, which runs from 3pm to 10.45pm..

Tickets cost £3 for adults and £2 for children on the gate, and there is a 50 pence reduction if booked in advance; and an advance family ticket costs £7.50.

They are available from the City of Ely Council office in Market Street, Exquisite in Market Street, or Burrows Bookshop, Ely.

* The city’s second Summer Saturday event on the Market Place takes place on Saturday, June 1. Residents are invited to bring along their chairs and a picnic, and sit back to enjoy a variety of entertainment, or support local take-away restaurants which have pledged a 10 per cent donation to the Mayor’s Charity. Entertainment on Saturday will be from the Lighthouse Youth Theatre Group and guests.
