A choir of 250 singers from America will perform in Ely Cathedral on Independence Day as part of a celebration of peace.
The event on Wednesday July 4 at 7.30pm will be joined by the East Anglia Chamber Orchestra.
Conducting will be Stephen Cleobury, of Kings College, Cambridge and Craig Jessop, the former director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
The choir will be accompanied by the East Anglia Chamber Orchestra and an Ely Cathedral organist.
The event starts and ends with a procession, organised by the Royal British Legion, and will include playing of The Last Post and a minute’s silence, when poppies will fall from the Octagon in recognition of the need for international peace.
• Premium tickets £15, including reserved seating and a glass of wine. Other tickets are £10 (unreserved), with concessions £8. Call 01353 660349 or email email@example.com, or online from www.elycathedral.org.
The concert forms part of the Isle of Ely Arts Festival, which runs until Saturday July 7. The Festival includes music, art, poetry, dance and drama and is overseen by Babylon Arts.
