What better way to enjoy the warmer weather than with a Sicilian Spritz - free when buying an antipasto dish after 7pm throughout June - to accompany Carlucio's new summer menu.
A sweet yet refreshing fusion of Tanqueray gin, limoncello, lemonade and prosecco, it’s the perfect start to a meal at their welcoming and homely Cambridge restaurant, conveniently located just outside the Grand Arcade - the city’s most popular shopping destination - and moments away from live music venue the Cambridge Corn Exchange.
The Italian way to ease into a meal, their selection of spritz’s are perfect with a focaccia and balsamic vinegar appetiser. For starters, the calamari is a great choice, while the Crab Bruschetta - Devon crab, frisée lettuce and tomato on grilled ciabatta - creates a taste sensation full of flavours; and there’s just enough, leaving plenty of space for a main course and dessert.
The pasta with tomatoes, olives and chicken is a good choice if you’re wanting something substantial that will really fill you up, while the rosemary chicken with rocket, pesto and potatoes offers something a little different from what you’d expect at an Italian restaurant.
Making sure to save just enough room for desert though, it’s a tough choice but the chocolate and almond caprese with vanilla ice cream is too tempting a combination to turn down; light and fluffy; it’s thankfully not too rich either.
If you’re looking for something more fruity and sweet to finish off then you can’t go wrong with the frutto della passione - irresistibly presented in a circular glass jar with the raspberries perched on top of mirangue and a raspberry coulis...
And to celebrate the launch of its new spring/summer menu and spritz range, Carluccio’s is offering a free Aperol Spritz to anyone buying an antipasto dish, every day until 7pm throughout June.
