The well-loved tale of two broken souls at different ends of the age scale celebrates the value of love and proves that friendship has no barriers. Set during the dark and dangerous times of World War II, it follows sad young William Beech, who is evacuated to the idyllic English countryside and builds a remarkable and moving friendship with the elderly recluse, Tom Oakley.

The production features local children as young as 10 and adults of all ages. During rehearsals the cast and crew welcomed a local evacuee to talk to them about her experience of being evacuated from London to Dorset.

The show is at the college’s Performing Arts Centre, tonight (Wednesday 24, tomorrow (Thursday 25), Friday (26) and Saturday (27). The show starts at 7.30pm with a matinee performance on Saturday 27 at 2.30pm.
