Loving Vincent is showing at Ely Cinema on Wednesday January 17 – one of the worlds first fully oil painted feature films bringing some of Vincent van Gogh’s most famous work to life.
The ‘ground-breaking’ film uses thousands of oil paintings – commissioned from scores of artists – animating Gogh’s most famous work into a ‘hypnotic’ and ‘beguiling’ cartoon.
With more than six years in the making, ‘Loving Vincent’ was created by 125 specially trained artists – composed of 65,000 painted frames drawn from meticulous research and inspired by van Gogh’s masterpieces, subjects and 800 personal letters.
The film is set to explore the mysteries surrounding the artist’s death – Matinee Tickets are £6.60 for adults and £5.50 for concessions and children – Evening tickets are £7 for adults and £6 for concessions and children.
Moving Movies said: “Loving Vincent brings the artwork of Vincent van Gogh to life in an exploration of the complicated life and controversial death of one of history’s most celebrated artists. It captures the world of van Gogh in a cinematic experience like no other.”
