A SUNDAY afternoon Tea and Tunes concert will be performed by the City of Ely Military Band on April 14.

This favourite concert in the band’s calendar takes place at Ely College from 2.30pm to 5pm.

The 60-strong band includes a variety of instruments from the woodwind and brass sections, and performs a wide range of music, including traditional marches and ceremonial pieces, overtures and waltzes, show and film scores.

A regular sight around the district in their scarlet uniforms, the band performs at many different engagements, including ceremonial occasions and performances in Ely Cathedral, as well as town fetes and shows.

Band secretary Malcolm Fletcher said: “We would be most grateful if tickets were purchased ahead, to help with catering arrangements.” Tickets are available from Burrows Bookshop in Ely, or can be reserved by calling Malcolm on 01353 663324.
