The Band of Hope is to play a special concert to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Ely’s twinning with Ribe, in Denmark.
Over the course of the 60 years, representatives from Ely and Ribe have visited each other on a regular basis and, to commemorate the special occasion, the Band of Hope will welcome a party from Ribe, coinciding with the annual Eel Festival.
The culmination of the visit will be a dinner in The Maltings on Sunday, May 3, where, after the meal, entertainment will be provided by the band, Ely’s very own 1920s-style band, playing all the tunes made popular in the period.
The event is open to former and current members of the Ely/Ribe Twinning Association who would like to join or renew old friendships.
