Shayne Ward has cancelled his appearance at the Party On The Hill and will be replaced by Sam Bailey.
Shayne, who won the X Factor in 2005, apologised for the last minute cancellation and posted on his Facebook page:
“Hi everyone.. I’m really disappointed that I can’t perform at Party On The Hill as I’ve been given strict instructions to rest.
“It’s frustrating and sorry to let you down but I promise I will make it up to you all. x”
Party On The Hill organisers said of the situtation last night: “As you will all know by now, Shayne Ward has had to cancel his appearance this weekend. We wish him well and hope he is back to full fettle soon.
“We are thrilled (and very grateful) to announce that the lovely Sam Bailey has agreed to stepped in at such short notice. Despite having an afternoon appearance the same day she will be rushing to Ely to perform for us at Party On The Hill.”
The live music event will take place on Saturday in Ely Park/Cherry Hill with gates opening at 1pm and closing at 11pm.
