The Herbal Bed, a moving and uplifting play that provides a beautiful evocation of life in Shakespearian England, comes to the Cambridge Arts Theatre next week.
Based on real events from Stratford-Upon-Avon in the summer of 1613, it is a powerful exposé of the contradiction between human desire and social convention which seeks to repress it.
The show comes to Cambridge from Tuesday 1 to Saturday 5 March for a range of 2.30pm and 7.45pm performances.
Tickets; £18 to £33, are available from www.cambridgeartstheatre.com or by calling 01223 503333
