Cambridge Arts Theatre’s ‘Women in Theatre’ series (March 7 –) begins with ‘Silver Lining’, a “hilarious” new comedy by writer, actor, presenter and political activist Sandi Toksvig.
It tells the tale of five extraordinary yet forgotten women, who come together one treacherous night to recreate The Great Escape – senior citizen style say promoters.
The show stars Sheila Reid, best known for her role as Madge in ITV’s Benidorm, Joanna Monro (Angels, Doctor Who), Amanda Walker (Cloud Atlas, Holby City), Rachel Davies (Emmerdale), Maggie McCarthy (Doctors), Keziah Joseph and Theo Toksvig-Stewart.
‘Silver Lining’ is at the venue from Tuesday 7 to Saturday 11 March for a range of 2.30pm and 7.45pm performances.
Tickets; £18 to £33 (including a £3 per-ticket booking fee), are available from www.cambridgeartstheatre.com or by calling the box office 01223 503333.
