The sixth annual Prickwillow Engine Museum ploughing festival is going to be bigger than ever.
Organised with TWH Clarke and Son and taking place at the museum and Green Farm from 10am until 6pm on Saturday October 7 and Sunday October 8, money raised will go towards Cancer Research UK.
“This is the sixth joint event, which has grown year on year, and this year is going to bigger than ever,” said Ken Woods, of Prickwillow Museum.
“This event is billed as a family show and will cater for everyone. It will include large steam engines, heavy working horses, and tractors giving ploughing demonstrations, as well as a ploughing competition.
“There will also be static displays of tractors and farm machinery, stationary engines, a classic car and commercial vehicle show.
“Live music will also feature on stage both days, as well as children’s entertainment, train rides, a raptor display, arts and craft stalls, and hot and cold food, a real ale beer tent and much more.
“The museum will also be running its large pumping engines, and demonstrating the old City of Ely Steam fire engine dating back to 1912.”
Admission costs £7.50 for adults and accompanied children under 16 receive free entry.

Entertainment begins on Saturday at 11.15am, with The Hobblers, a folk band based from Norfolk.
Then taking over the stage will be The Tildens who in their words are “a rock band in a tea cup, or possibly a folk band in a whiskey bottle”. The band is a collective of musicians who craft a musical experience unlike any other.
Following on during the afternoon we also have JezO a children’s entertainer with a magic show and balloon modelling.
Sunday entertainment follows a similar programme as Saturday but starting at 11am.
Throughout the weekend there is also horse and tractor ploughing demonstrations and competitions with judging on Sunday.
There is also a classic car and commercial vehicle display at the museum and at Green Farm there’s a display of vintage stationary engine and farm equipment.
And for the kids there is also a funfair with roundabout and slides.
