Get ready to give your vocals a workout when ‘Sister Act’ comes to the Cambridge Arts Theatre next week.
The musical comedy, which will be performed by the Cambridge Operatic Society features dazzling dance routines and soul and disco songs, making it one of the funniest and funkiest musicals around.
The story follows disco diva Deloris Van Cartier (played by Cambridge talent Trenetta Jones) who witnesses a murder. She is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be found - a convent! Disguised as a nun she makes the wrong impression on the strict Mother Superior. But when she transforms the choir into the most glorious musical act in town, Deloris forms a lasting bond with her newfound friends - and the gang that’s chasing her finds itself up against an unstoppable team of soulful sisters!
There are a number of 2.30pm and 7.45pm showings from Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 November.
Tickets, which range from £15 to £25 (excluding a £3 booking fee) are available from www.cambridgeartstheatre.com or by calling the box office on 01223 503333.
