THE Mozart Festival Orchestra has announced a UK tour for the autumn celebrating the greatest composer of all time - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - and you can enjoy the event at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. The evening will recreate the scene from the classical era with the orchestra performing magnificent works in full period costume in an evocative candle-lit setting.

Already famous across Europe as a child prodigy, Mozart died at 35, yet in his short life he created masterpieces in every genre of his day, his compositions characterised by prominent melody and harmonic accompaniment. In a diverse programme, audiences will be able to enjoy some of Mozart’s finest pieces including the Don Govanni Overture, Clarinet Concerto, Eline Kleine Nachtmusik, Pianon Conerto No 21 and Symphony No 41 Jupiter. Celebrated conductor Thomas Carroll will lead the Mozart Festival Orchestra joined by soloists Richard Hosford on the clarinet and Jonathan Scott on piano.

Mozart by Candlelight will be at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on December 9. Tickets are priced from 8.50-28 and are available from the box office on 01223 357851.
