Rewriting the classics and reshaping old stories is nothing new - Shakespeare did it constantly – but a workshop taking place in Ely next month will give aspiring writers the chance to have a go themselves.

Come along to the Babylon Gallery on October 4 to Sue Burge’s writing workshop Making the Classics Work for You and explore how to create prequels, sequels and rewrites, as well as bringing minor characters to life and highlighting the subplots of our best-loved tales.

This event aims at producing fresh and engaging work, both poetry and prose, through a series of writing exercises. Sue always offers extensive feedback on any writing produced at her workshops so the writing doesn’t stop once the day is over.

The workshop runs from 2-8pm at the Babylon Gallery, Waterside, Ely and costs £30. To book your place e-mail Sue on suekburge@hotmail.co.uk or phone 01553 692798. Further details can be found at www.sueburge.co.uk
