Eliza, daughter of English folk music greats Martin Carthy and Norma Waterson, is one of the most dazzling and recognised folk musicians of a generation.

In addition to Eliza and The Wayward Band, the line-up for the 2015 festival includes Scottish folk rock band Oysterband, the New Essex Bluegrass Band, the Demon Barber XL show, Nancy Kerr and The Sweet Visitor Band, top ceilidh band Whapweasel, and local Ely resident and songwriter Boo Hewerdine and friends.

Fionnuala Lennon, of the festival committee, said “We’re delighted to be celebrating 30 years of Ely Folk Festival this year and we wanted to get the best of British folk and roots acts to come and perform to make it a special occasion.

“I think we’ve achieved one of the best festival line-ups ever and we’re particularly delighted to have Eliza Carthy perform this year – she’s been on our wish list for a long time”
