NOVELIST Margaret Atwood will be promoting her new book, the third in a trilogy, at Ely Cathedral on Saturday August 31.
The trilogy started in 2003 with ‘Oryx and Crake’, and continued six years later with ‘The Year of the Flood’.
The new book, ‘MaddAddam’, is described as “full of dark satiric wit and peopled with all too human characters”.
A spokesman from Topping and Company bookshop of Ely, who have organised the visit, said: “It is thrilling to be able to invite Margaret Atwood back to Ely to introduce the climactic instalment of a work that will surely stand as a crowning achievement of her remarkable career.”
The event starts at 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets booked ahead cost £7, including a voucher towards the cost of the book, and £8 on the day. Call Topping and Company on 01353 645005.
