Residents are being invited to take part in a spring clean around Ely, on Sunday.
As part of a week of action in Ely to tackle speeding, parking and anti-social behaviour, the East Cambridgeshire Community Safety Partnership, City of Ely Council, East Cambridgeshire District Council, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and others are encouraging people to come forward and help tidy Ely.
The two hour clean-up will focus on cleaning the city centre and the parks and open spaces.
The spring clean will begin at 10am at the car park of the new City of Ely Council offices – in Lynn Road.
Litter pickers, gloves and bags will be provided and health and safety advice will be provided by council officers.
Councillor Lis Every, mayor of Ely and chairman of the Ely City Forum, said: “Ely is generally a clean and tidy place, but over the winter some windblown litter and rubbish can accumulate. So we decided to organise a community litter pick to help tidy up our wonderful city.
“We are looking to cover the centre of the town as well as some of our parks and opens spaces - there will be hot drinks and snacks available to all volunteers to help spur them on so please come and help.”
