Children’s books exhibition spanning seven centuries is now open at St John’s College Library

An exhibition of children’s books spanning seven centuries is now open for the festive season at St John’s College Library, University of Cambridge.
The display showcases historic school books, traditional fables, classic adventure stories, picture books and poems and riddles from the library’s special collections.
Highlights include original texts by authors such as the 17th Century philosopher John Locke and Roger Ascham, the childhood tutor of Queen Elizabeth I.
Some Earlier Age: Children’s Books in the College Library runs until January 29 in the Library Exhibition Area, and is open to the public Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. The exhibition will however be closed from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day inclusive.
