Boo Hewerdine’s Christmas show, which is now in its sixth year, comes to The Maltings next week.
The singer-songwriter has worked with two of the Spice Girls, Natalie Imbruglia, Sia and Eddi Reader in his career, so ahead of the event the Ely Standard caught up with him about career highlights and what’s going on at this year’s Christmas show.
What can people expect from the show?
“Hilarity from Phill Jupitus, award-winning folk from Kris Drever and amazing comedy magic from John Archer! Note perfect sixties music from the 6Ts! And me singing!”
What’s one odd thing that people wouldn’t know about you?
“I was born on Valentines Day leading to astonishment of postal workers over the years.”
What have been your favourite career moments?

Any funny stories about people you’ve worked for?
“I have hundreds of stories. They are a big part of my act… so if I tell you I’ll have nothing to say at the Maltings!”
What’s your ultimate goal?
“This is the sixth Christmas show I have done at The Maltings. The original idea was to bring some of my pals to our wonderful city to celebrate Christmas. We have had so much fun doing these. I always make sure it is my last gig before the 25th. A great way to end the year!”
Boo Hewerdine’s Christmas show takes place on Tuesday December 15.
