A superb goal from youngster Sean Francis-Calvey fired Ely City Under 18s to County Challenge Cup glory last night.

Francis-Calvey arrowed in a shot after 27 minutes and that was good enough to seal victory over Cambridge City Under 18s at Histon’s Glass World Stadium.

Luke Mansfield went close for Ely early on, Rhys Mazey was denied in the second half and George Rayner had a goal ruled out for offside with minutes remaining as Ely saw out their victory.

They return to Thurlow Nunn Youth League action on April 4 when they take on Godmanchester Rovers.

The Robins sit in fourth in the standings.
