Ely City C 4 Bottisham 0

THE first half was very scrappy and neither side were able to take control of the match or dominate the possession. Ely got off the mark after only a few minutes gone with midfielder Chris Fleming tapping in from short range getting on the end of a pass from the right wing.

Winger Oliver Young added a second goal for Ely at the end of the half driving home a low shot from a cleared corner.

Throughout the second half Ely played much better and had more of the possession. Fleming, Ely's man of the match, scored his second goal after three minutes with a well placed shot, and centre forward Oliver Jackson added another a few minutes later with a great solo run down the right wing.

Ely: Tom McInally, Daniel Butcher, Shaun Eldridge, Adam Keeble, David Balcombe, Oliver Young, Alex Philips, Tom Porter, Chris Fleming, Edmund Dickinson, Adam Richards (captain), Oliver Jackson, Kiefer Taylor.

Stretham Sporting 3

Comberton Crusaders 3

COMBERTON dominated the match in the first half against an under-strength home side only able to field 10 men. The visitors constantly threatened on the break with their quick forward line and after only 10 minutes of play had scored two goals. Stretham continued to battle and scored a well worked goal through winger Liam Hellier on 12 minutes.

In the second half Stretham had more possession and started to win more of the ball in midfield, enabling them to create chances for their forwards. This pressure resulted in an own goal to take the scores level.

Almost immediately Comberton restored their lead and looked like winning but Stretham's gutsy performance and determination was rewarded when left back David Fleming scored Stretham's equaliser with only minutes remaining. Stand-in goalkeeper Max Stubbins was awarded Stretham's man of the match for helping to keep his team in contention.

Ely City 1 Bluntisham 7

ANOTHER disastrous first half saw Ely go in at half time six goals down.

City did pull a nice goal back when Codie Couzens placed a great shot across the keeper and into the net.

Man of the match was Ryan Howell.

City: Kez Mackender, Sam Bryan, Jamie McCarthy, Alex Newton, Chris Smith, Will Law, Ryan Howell, Dan Beavis, Liam Heaps, Matt Waites, Codie Couzens.

Soham Town Colts 2

SOHAM should have won and taken all three points from this match.

Towards the break, a rare high lob from outside the box just dropped in under the crossbar to give the home side a narrow half-time lead.

Two goals in five minutes from Leevan Marshall and Elliot Drewery saw Soham go in front. A short spell of St Neots pressure followed and a Soham defender continued the spate of own goals from last week by deflecting a cross into the corner of the net.

Soham had strong penalty appeals waved away late on for a challenge on subsitute Charlie Wills, but could not find the breakthrough.

Joel Frey won the Soham man of the match for an impressive performance in midfield.

Soham: Ryan Saban, Owen Grainger, Andrew Pickerill, Dan Sadler, Josh Heaps, Simon Murfitt, Brian Tatay, Joel Frey, Dan Brook, Dan Whitwell, Ryan Brook, Craig Allen, Leevan Marshall, Elliot Drewery, Charlie Wills.

Isleham 2 Witchford Colts 0

THE first half was played at a fast tempo with each side playing good football.

Mid-way through the second half, Witchford conceded an unfortunate own goal. They endeavoured to get on equal terms, but a break away by Isleham resulted in a thunderbolt of a shot hitting the roof of Witchford's net. Witchford's man of the match was Jamie Woor.

Ely Crusaders A 3

Milton Colts 0

A PROPER cup tie which saw both teams play good attacking football.

The first half saw end-to-end play with both teams having good scoring opportunities. Ely's first goal came after a passing move involving nearly the whole team, with Jack Rudkin scoring.

Ely's second saw Harry Beeton pick the ball up in midfield, weave through several tackles and slot the ball home. The visitors gave Ely another fright when a superb effort from distance struck the post and bounced just outside the goal line.

With only a few minutes to go, Beeton burst through the visitors' defence to score and put the game beyond Milton's reach.

Crusaders: Oscar Haines, Ryan Marston, Tom Matcham, Harry Beeton, Tyler Thurston, Scott Callaghan, Thomas Walker, Jack Rudkin.

Haddenham Rovers Colts A 0 Histon Hornets 4

HADDENHAM Rovers cup run came to an abrupt end against a strong Histon team in Saturday's quarter final clash. Histon then took the lead after the Rovers defence failed to clear a low cross. Rovers pressured for an equaliser but the game was effectively killed off when Histon scored a second on the stroke of half-time.

In the second half Rovers had further opportunities which they were unable to convert and it was Histon who were the stronger team, booking their semi final place with two more well-taken goals.

Haddenham: Richard Padmore, Matthew Morton, Alex Lowe, Joe Snooks, Kieran Drummond, Theo Hall, Felix Peck, Oliver Holden, John Falconer, Richard Beary.

Under-10 Division A

Soham 1 Lakenheath 4

SOHAM had a good start producing some good early pressure but soon conceded a goal to the first real attack that came from Lakenheath.

Some stout defending from man of the match, Dan Willett, along with good keeping from Sam Minns, was not enough to stop Lakenheath from scoring again to go in 2-0 at half time.

With the team not flowing through the midfield some changes were made to the formation for the second half. Soham managed to hold their own for a while but then Lakenheath scored twice.

Creative play from Soham saw the chances come but the final finish was not there until Paul Wallis managed to collect a consolation goal right at the end.

Littleport 3

LITTLEPORT opened the scoring but this was shortly followed by a Soham equaliser, when Jake Fordham scored. Littleport continued to play well and scored again to equalise. Once more Littleport scored but a goal from Paul Masterton of Soham made it 3-3.

The two teams were evenly matched and both tried hard to get the result, however in the end goals by Masterton and Knox-Hooke gave Soham the win.

Soham man of the match was Scott Grainger.

Colts: Daniel Bradley, Jordan Brown, Oliver Brown, Jake Fordham, Bill Francis, Scott Grainger, Alex Knox-Hooke, Paul Masterton, Tom Morriss, Zak Rash, Luke Webster-Sterry, Benjamin Webster-Ward.

Wright completed his hat-trick in the final quarter to seal the win.
