City of Ely continued their winning ways when they hosted Hardwick & Caldecote in
Division B of the CYCA League last Thursday.
Opening batsmen Tim Lucraft and Ban Balmford scored16 and 12 respectively, but it was number three Edward George who led Ely's charge with an unbeaten 67.
George and Jake Bartolozzi (32 not out) put on 101 in 11 overs for the third wicket, taking the home side's total on to 152 for 2 at the end of their 20 overs.
Hardwick struggled to get into their stride against Ely's bowlers, with only Dan Jarvis (20) and Ross Clarkson (11) reaching double figures.
They eventually finished on 75 all out, with the wickets going to Ryan Bowles (3), C J Porter and Nathan Boothroyd (two each) and one-a-piece for successful batsmen George and Bartolozzi.
