City of Ely under 15s made it five consecutive wins by thrashing Fenland rivals March Town by 99 runs.

Alex Millard continued his rich vein of form with an effortless unbeaten 50, backed up by strong batting from Riley Phillips (16), a classy 40 from Owen Cole and a 26 runs from Ben Harnwell, taking Ely to 177-4 off their 20 overs.

In reply March lost their captain to a fantastic run out by Owen Cole who then produced a brilliant catch to leave the hosts with an uphill challenge.

Wickets fell at a steady pace and then the introduction of Todd Bailey, who took four wickets, helped bowl March out for 78 in 15.3 overs in the youngsters’ most impressive display to date.

City of Ely under 11s were also in action, with Ben Collier’s knock of 19 helping them to victory over local rivals Wilburton.

Collier’s double-figure haul and seven from Daniel Millard saw Ely close their innings on 86-3, before some impressive bowling from Collier and Oliver Pitcher helped Ely reduce Wilburton to 40-3.
