EIGHT young footballers from Ely have represented their city at the Cambridge United Youth Development In-House Tournament.

Harry Alexander, Max Bovingdon, Adam Capel, Jordan Emms, Harry Law, Max Loker, Callum Munden, and Cyrus Richards played in the tournament in which teams from the U's Youth Development Scheme took part.

The youngsters picked up valuable experience as they played against teams from Cambridge, Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Huntingdon, March and King's Lynn.

Steve Lilley, of Cambridge United Youth Development, said: "Hopefully some of the boys you see here today will be seen in the Cambridge United first team in years to come."

The teams in age groups from under-six to under-nine were all members of Cambridge United's Youth Development Scheme and the event was sponsored by Ridgeons Timber and Builders Merchants.
