STUDENTS from the Mark Farnham Schools of Tae Kwon-Do have been crowned world champions at the eighth World Open Tae Kwon-Do Championships.
More than 2,000 senior and junior competitors from 40 countries competed in the tournament held at the National Indoor Arena (NIA), in Birmingham.
And the students from Ely, Mildenhall and Burwell all produced superb performances to win gold medals.
Six-year-old Jordan Shea, from Mildenhall, became one of the youngest world champions when he won the boys' patterns division.
There was more success for Mildenhall when Sean Berry won gold in the patterns competition and a silver in the team sparring.
Ely's Britni Edwards and Sam Lapthorn won team sparring titles, as did David Edwards and Jeanette Saunders, both from Burwell.
David Edwards made it a tournament to remember when he won a second world title in the men's sparring.
Jeanette Saunders went on to win a bronze in the ladies sparring.
The standard of competition was very high but the Mark Farnham Schools returned with a total haul of 43 medals and 23 world titles.
