FOLLOWING last week's battling home draw, Witchford made the long journey to Bishops Stortford for a first round cup tie.
The home team started the brighter and were four goals up in the first 10 minutes. Witchford struggled to cope with the bigger pitch and bigger goals, and it took them until half-time to find their feet, by which time they were six down with Georgia Day lobbing the keeper to score the consolation goal.
The second-half brought a much better performance from Witchford, but they were unable to stop Stortford netting three goals on the break as they pushed for further goals. Girl of the game for Witchford was the ever improving Esme Wright.
