Witchford Colts U11s were given a taste of Ryman Division action when they travelled to Julius Martin Lane to take in Soham Town Rangers match.

The young Colts’ players took their places in the stands for the Greens’ clash with Redbridge, and before the match they were treated to a chat with ex-Manchester United, Cambridge United and now Soham midfielder Luke Chadwick, who happily answered their questions and signed their shirts.

Two of the boys were then asked to be the mascots for the match and led both teams out onto the pitch.

The young Witchford team then settled in to watch a very entertaining and thrilling match which, saw the hosts win 4-1 thanks to goals from Ross Paterson, Salim Relizani, Will Lawton and Ryan Sharman.

Witchford’s manager Andrew Harding, who accompanied the Colts on their trip, said: “The team have had a great afternoon. Soham Town Rangers have been brilliant to us today and cheering on the winning team has rounded it off nicely. A big thank you to Simon Cullum and Patrick Smith.”
