WILBURTON slumped to their ninth league defeat of the season after a disastrous 10 wicket reverse at home to Newmarket.
Sent in to bat first, Wilburton showed nightmarish flashes of their early season form as wickets tumbled. Only number nine batsmen Marcus Brook (14*) was able to register double figures as the home side were dismissed for just 52, inside 29 overs.
In need of a miraculous performance with the ball to rescue victory, Wilburton came out firing but, despite their admirable attacking intent, they were unable to replicate Newmarket's bowling form. Brook's 0-6 was the highlight for Wilburton.
