A DECENT performance from Wilburton went unrewarded at the weekend as they lost out by eight wickets to St Ives.

Electing to bat first, Wilburton overcame a relatively sluggish start to work their way to a decent-enough score of 145-7, the in-form Tony Jacobs impressing once more with a opening knock of 57.

The visitors real problems began with the resumption of play after tea though, as, despite many bowlers performing well with decent returns, some polished top-order batting from St Ives saw them cruise to victory in a little under 25 overs. M Garner was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors, collecting 1-15.
