A NEW era will start at Ely City this weekend as Trevor Munns will officially take the reigns for his first game in charge against Felixstowe & Walton United.

Munn will succeed outgoing boss Denis Lightning who will take over in a director of football style role, something he thinks will evoke mixed feelings,

"It will definitely cause one of two reactions, I will either enjoy being relaxed and not having to worry about players or I will hate not being able to have control, we will just have to see," he said.

"Trevor will be in full control of picking the team this weekend and he should have a full squad to choose from except for perhaps Ben Lawrence who missed out on training this week with an ankle knock."

Ely come into the game on the back of a heavy 5-1 loss at Tiptree and will hoping to get back into the sort of form that saw them win three on the bounce early in March. Opponents Felixstowe meanwhile, are in indifferent form with three losses and two wins in their last five making them an unpredictable prospect.
