WOODBRIDGE Town lost 9-1 at Soham Town Rangers earlier in the season, but were in no mood for a repeat performance in Saturday's re-match.
Impressive midfielder Michael Simpson earned Rangers a 28th minute penalty against the run of play, but Woodbridge 'keeper Marcus Garnham guessed correctly to turn Andy Furnell's spot-kick away to his right.
There were chances at both ends, but it was the hosts who finally went in front after 59 minutes, Paul Hart toe-poking in Stefan Marsh's flick-on.
Garnham was kept busy in Woodbridge's go al during the remaining half-an-hour, but was finally beaten deep into stoppage time.
Four-and-a-half of the additional seven minutes had elapsed when substitute Andy Coleman forced the ball home following a corner.
Rangers travelled to Histon Reserves in the Cambs Invitation Cup on Tuesday evening, and on Saturday entertain lowly Suffolk rivals Newmarket Town.
