ELY under 15s played their last tournament of the season at the weekend, battling it out with some of the best teams from across the East of England.
Ely's first match was against Peterborough a team with three players who have been playing men's premier league this year. The difference in experience showed in the first half but Ely rallied and competed well with their lofty opponents, eventually slipping to an 8-3 loss. Ely scorers were Max Dunnand (2) and Simon Thompson.
The next game against Cottenham was a tight affair throughout, goals for Dunnand and Callum Thoday were not enough and Ely lost 3 - 2. The last match against Bury was again close from the start, a short spell of poor defending was the difference between the two teams with two goals from Thoday and one from Thompson not enough with Bury winning 5-3.
