‘Tornado’ Tyler Goodjohn defeated Andrei Hramyka to claim the International Masters light-welterweight title at the Watford Colosseum on Saturday night.
The referee stopped the fight during the fifth round to hand Goodjohn, 22, from Wentworth, victory over the big-hitting Belarusian and his second masters title along with it.
The former junior ABA champion looked comfortable in the opening two rounds as he sized his opponent up before shifting through the gears in round three.
Hramyka, who vowed in his pre-fight press conference to knock Goodjohn out inside three rounds, was hanging in by the end of the fourth round and, by the middle of the fifth, was pinned to the ropes.
The referee stepped in and ended the fight, giving Goodjohn his ninth victory in the professional ranks. Goodjohn has now set his sights on an English or Southern Area title before the end of the year.
