Two talented Ely teenagers picked up medals after competing at the East Region Swimming Championships in Luton.
Maeve Pooley and Ciara Taylor, who are both year 8 students at Soham Village College, also picked up medals and national qualifying times.
Maeve, who trains with Newmarket Swimming Club, qualified for 11 events bringing home three silver medals in her favoured long distance events of 1500m, 800m and 400m Freestyle.
Maeve also qualified for two other finals finishing 4th and 6th.
Ciara, who trains with St.Ives Swimming Club, qualified for nine events reaching three finals, bringing home a bronze in the 50 Butterfly and 4th and 8th in her other finals.
Both have been rewarded for their efforts as they will be travelling to Sheffield in August to compete at Swim England’s National Age Group Summer Championship against the top 20 athletes in the country, Maeve qualifying for 1500m Freestyle and Ciara 50m Butterfly.
