ELY Tri Club marked the end of a successful first season this week by making a donation of £250 to Ely Swimming Club to go towards new lane ropes at the Paradise Swimming Pool.

Brian Emerson, chairman of Ely Tri Club, pictured handing over the cheque to Chris Howard, chairman of the swimming club, said: “I am proud of how far the club has come in such a short period of time and supporting the swimming club with both maintaining and improving the facilities is hugely important to us.”

Building a relationship between the two clubs is one of the key aims of the triathlon club because of the overlap of core skills. Many swimmers continue to train at both swimming club and tri club sessions.

Ely Tri Club train on a Tuesday night at 9pm at Paradise Pool on Newnham Street and in the summer can be found open water swimming at Mepal Outdoor Centre. If you want to learn more then please visit www.elytriclub.co.uk
