ON THE back of the team's first away win of the season, the Mildenhall Fen Tigers switch to a Saturday race night as Newcastle Diamonds head south.
In what was a surprise result, the Fen Tigers finished with a 50-40 margin over home side Stoke Potters with Kyle Legault top scoring with 13 points.
Before the meeting Mildenhall had been written off after Stoke's comprehensive win over Berwick the previous week but the Fen Tigers weren't letting past records get in their way as they took the lead after heat seven and never looked back.
Delighted team manager Laurence Rogers said: "I was a very proud man last Saturday. It was a magnificent performance from the lads and the fans were in great voice supporting them.
"Kyle had four great wins and Mario dropped one point in his first four rides. Tom P bounced back from a first race duck to come from behind for a brilliant win in heat 11.
"Jason started with a fall in his first race when challenging on a greasy surface but had a 5-1 with Kyle in heat seven to put us in the lead, and then combined with guest Danny Giffard to secure the win in heat 14 with another 5-1.
"Danny was a great guest but lost out on a paid win in heat eight when an on-the-line decision went Stoke's way when many thought he had done enough to hold off Rusty Harrison.
"On Saturday we go in search of another home win with Newcastle in town. They have a solid looking side with the likes of Carl Wilkinson and Ross Brady in second-string slots.
"Sheffield's James Cockle, who almost joined the Fen Tigers this year, is our guest replacement for Jamie Smith and he will be all out to show what the Fen Tigers missed out on this year, I am sure.
"We then face a long journey north for Sunday's clash at Glasgow."
Mildenhall entertain Newcastle on Saturday, with parade at 6.45pm and tapes up at 7pm.
