KARL Hayler’s Tigers recorded their biggest win of the season on Saturday at the expense of a woeful Fakenham side.

The Tigers have been in superb form recently and proved too good for their hosts, who failed to register a single point in a largely one-sided match.

Fielding the same team that beat Holt last week, Ely began a game that saw them systematically pull Fakenham apart in all areas of the game, dominating the line out and scrummage.

On the fleeting occasions when Fakenham did get the ball, Ely pressured them with persistent defence and forced regular turn overs at the break down. Ely’s staggering tally of 12 trys came thick and fast throughout the game with vice captain Jamie Russell adding 14 points with the boot despite the windy conditions. Ed Fahy picked up a hat-trick of tries with braces for Joel Scott-Paul, Mitchell Kennett and Lee Coulson. Solo efforts from Sean Kennett, John Hunt and John Dibb completed the scoring.
