Little Downham held their nerve in a thriller with Leverington to win by one wicket.

Leverington batted first and made 111-9. Little Downham almost made a mess of the modest chase, but scraped over the line.

Wilburton lost a top of the table clash with Cambridge Granta III by two wickets.

Some late order resistance helped Wilburton battle from 112-7 to 165 all out. The main contributors were Ian Jacobs (25), Darren Bentick (25) and Ryan Newton (24).

Ollie Sellars, fresh of his previous week’s eight wicket haul, took two early scalps to reduce Granta III to 14-3.

Granta III staged a recovery but wickets fell at regular intervals and they looked odds on to lose at 132-8.

But the ninth wicket pair put on an unbeaten 34 runs to see Granta III home. Sellars finished with 4-24, with Newton taking 2-16.

East Anglian Premier League

Burwell came unstuck against strugglers Norwich, losing by two wickets.

Peter Richer (67) and Ben Bryant (47) gave Burwell an excellent start, but they collapsed from 123-1 to 193 all out.

Richer completed a fine all-round game with 4-54, while Josh Arksey took 3-62, but, after two wickets fell on 173, the ninth wicket pair knocked off the remaining 20 runs.

Tucker Gardner Division One

Burwell II produced a stunning performance to crush Ketton by 185 runs.

Manish Burman (88), Matthew Hague (65), Joshua Vowden (48) and James Craig (43) all cashed in as Burwell II piled on the runs, finishing on a commanding 312-7.

Andrew Bramley ripped the heart out of Ketton’s innings, dismissing the top four batsmen. He finished with 5-27. Jay Ghelani took two wickets without conceding a run. Ketton were bowled out for 127.

Tucker Gardner Division Two

Fordham chalked up another good victory with a six wicket success over St Ives at the Cambridge University Press Ground.

Fordham invited the hosts to bat first and skipper Mark Abbott’s decision paid dividends when Charlie Forden had overseas player Benji Thomas caught at slip by Tom Williams before dismissing his fellow opener Reid, with only 13 runs on the board.

But Ricky Greiller and Tom MacCarthy set about changing things in determined fashion and the two compiled a fine partnership of 96 for the third wicket with Greiller making 65 and MacCarthy 41.

But when these two had gone, the Fordham attack hit back by taking the remaining seven wickets for 52 runs as St Ives concluded their innings on 161-9.

Forden took 4-23 from 11 overs with Sam Buck taking 3-40 and Harry Darling 1-18 from 10.

The Summerskill brothers put on 53 for the first wicket before Gareth went for 25 but Josh Sivier kept the board ticking with Chris Summerskill, until he went for 20.

Two other wickets fell but Mark Hatcher then joined the Fordham opener for an unbroken stand of 50 as Fordham got home with six overs to spare. Summerskill was unbeaten on 62 with Hatcher making 23 not out.

CCA Senior Division Two

City of Ely lost to Wisbech II by 57 runs.

The hosts batted first and posted 273-6. City of Ely put up a spirited chase but fell short on 216-9.

CCA Junior Division 1N

Fordham II’s winning run continued with a 82 run victory over St Ives II.

Chamilla Mirresearchi (30) and Gav Harding (23) put on 40 for the first wicket but it was Chris Rules (64no) that took Fordham beyond the 200 mark.

Good knocks from Graham Arnold (31), Alex Theobald (22) and Adam Cornwell (19no) enabled the hosts to record 213-4 from their allotted overs.

Craig Theobald (4-36) and Mark Barton (2-37) were in the wickets as the visitors reached 131-8 at the close.

Sutton were edged out by Bottisham and Lode by three runs.

Bottisham batted first and posted 174-6. Sutton, in reply, reached 171-4 off their 40 overs.

Littleport lost to Fen Ditton by 37 runs. Fen Ditton set Littleport 233 to win. Their chase ended on 195-9.

CCA Junior Division 2N

Both Isleham openers hit fifties as Isleham beat Wisbech III by seven wickets.

Colin Hood (3-49) and Robert Leigh (3-63) shared six wickets as Wisbech III made 186-7. Isleham finished on 190-3.

CCA Junior Division 3N

Haddenham produced a good bowling effort to beat Chatteris II by 25 runs.

Haddenham batted first and scored 173-7. Chatteris II, in reply, were restricted to 148-9.

CCA Junior Division 4N

Burwell III’s bowlers were in devastating form as they picked up an emphatic 174 run win over Cottenham II.

There were contributions from Wayne Hardy (38), Nicholas Huckle (47), Liam Flynn (36) and Adam Hudson (36no) as Burwell III posted 236-7.

Daniel Knight (4-13), Matthew Driver (3-3) and Simon Hudson (2-9) did the damage as Cottenham II were skittled for 62.

Isleham II beat Bluntisham II by 20 runs. Isleham II posted a modest 154 all out but the bowlers came to the fore to dismiss Bluntisham II for 134.

A spectacular individual performance from Ed Aniskowicz helped City of Ely II beat Abbots Ripton by three wickets.

Aniskowicz took 5-14 in Abbot Ripton’s 115-7. He then led the way with 44 as City of Ely II, after a few scares, knocked off the target.

CCA Junior Division 5N

Sutton II posted 112 all out and lost to Coton by five wickets.
