LITTLE Thetford were unable to build on their victory at Chatteris last week as they slipped to a 12 run defeat at Willingham.
The game started well for Thetford with some consistent bowling keeping the visiting attack subdued at around four runs an over. Mick Watson and Mark Browne bowled particularly well to take (2-18) and (2-37).
It was Browne who was on form again after tea as he hit an impressive 52 and, along with his opening partner, established a solid platform. Unfortunately for Thetford however, their middle order struggled to make runs, with most failing to make double figures.
Late heroics from Deepak Gajjala and Kevin Russell gave the visitors a sniff of an unlikely win but it wasn't to be as they were bowled out for 157.
