Six Ely students from the Mark Farnham Schools of Tae Kwon-Do punched, kicked and flipped their way to success at the TAGB English championships.

Jake Boydell, Carrie Lord, Anna Munday, Sam O’Dell, Matt Seymour and Rio Tan travelled to the Worcester Arena along with 42 other students to take part in the tournament on Sunday March 13, which welcomed over 1,500 competitors across 16 fighting areas and is regarded as one of the British Tae Kwon-Do calendar’s biggest events.

Students from the Mark Farnham Schools of Tae Kwon-Do showcased their skills in Pattern, Sparring, Destruction and Team Sparring events during the day, bagging 24 medals in the process.

Matt Seymour was the stand-out competitor for the Ely students, as the young fighter took first place in the Green Belt Team Sparring, alongside a second-place finish in the Green Belt Single Sparring.

The Mark Farnham Schools are now preparing for their next event which will be the Welsh Championships in Cardiff in May, and anyone interested in learning Tae Kwon-Do should contact Mark on 07771 644460 visit www.mftkd.co.uk.
