The Ely 10is Academy has been busy in recent weeks.

The local group recently offered six free tennis courses courtesy of the One Stop convenience store.

On offer was ‘Tots 10is’ for younger players, Cardio 10is and MotorSkillz – a course of intense movement training.

Parents also got involved, with one saying: “My son loved doing the sessions with me.

“Every Saturday he was so excited because he knew I was going to play tennis with him.

“The lessons are very creative and fun, everything was well organised and the coaches were very friendly.”

10is director Sebastien Scaux said: “Our goal is not only teach tennis but create a community feel where all individuals are included.

“One Stop has helped us launch some concept courses and we are now hoping to carry them on and create a legacy.

“There’s a lot more to come. Our next projects are new courses for junior players aged 13 to 18 and also for adults from beginners to match players.

“Ely is a vibrant and growing place and the academy would like to reflect that.”
