Hockey prospects from King’s Ely were treated to a visit from one of Team GB’s golden girls last week.
Hockey gold medallist Alex Danson stopped by at the school to share her knowledge of the sport and inspire the youngsters to follow in her footsteps – as well as showing off her gold medal.
Almost 100 girls were also treated to a masterclass from Danson, who netted five goals in Team GB’s successful Olympic campaign in Rio de Janeiro in the summer.
Chanre Bond, head of hockey, said: “We are truly honoured to have an Olympic champion visit the school. The girls were very lucky to not only hear her thoughts about hockey but experience her fantastic coaching.”
