THE City of Ely Swimming Club impressed across the board at the weekend with a superb victory in the Autumn Shield Gala.
The Barracudas have been in fine form in recent weeks and the team carried their momentum into Saturday's gala event held in Huntingdon, fending off stiff competition from March, Peterborough and Huntingdon to claim victory.
Coach Elaine Hill said: "The team are still celebrating their amazing success in the Junior Fenland League - to win the very next gala is a great achievement for the whole club and shows the quality of swimming is improving across the board."
The swimmers came away with 13 improved personal best times and two new club records both for Jeremy Latham who swam in the men's open 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle races.
