A POOR batting display from Sutton saw them lose out by eight wickets to a clinical Wimblington side.

Put in to bat first, Sutton struggled from the outset and, save for a knock of 21 from Lloyd Brown, failed to forge any partnerships of note, eventually being bowled out for just 74 runs in 30 overs.

The task of bowling the opposition out for less than 74 was always going to be a tall order for Sutton, and so it proved as Wimblington knocked off their meagre total with little fuss, losing just two wickets. Michael Grady Jnr's return of 1-27 was the pick of the bowling for Sutton.

The news for the 2nd XI meanwhile, was little better as they found themselves beaten by a 186 run margin at March Town 3rd XI.
