Ely Park Rangers kept themselves in the 1A promotion race with a 5-3 home win at the expense of Arbury.

Man of the match Gareth Arter was influential throughout, but the goals went to Richie Murfitt (3-2 penalties) and Rob Parker (2) as Rangers avenged an early season defeat against the fading Cambridge outfit.

In Division 2A QPR Ely won by the odd goal in nine at Milton Sunday, and league leaders Ely Park Rangers Reserves reached the last four of the Millenium Cup at the expense of Sawston Keys Reserves.

Martin Blakeley's opener was cancelled out in the second half of normal time as Sawston made it 1-1, but Rangers eventually won the penalty shoot-out 4-3 to reach the semi-finals of the competition.

AFC Witchford were also in cup action, but proved no match for Cambridge Community Church as they went down 6-1 in the Quarter Finals of the Cambs Centenary Cup.

Ross Spencer put Witchford ahead with virtually the first shot of the game, but his side subsequently missed a penalty as they slid out of the competition.

In Division 4A Wicken Maids Head won 4-2 at Alma Reserves thanks to a hat-trick from Lee Moll.

Wicken led 3-1 at the break, and Bobby Fenn was the other player on target in the second half as Wicken recorded a welcome victory.
