ELY Park Rangers Reserves are through to the semi-finals of the M & E Freeman Junior Cup after a convincing win at Cambridge Magpies.
They survived an early scare when the ball was pushed on to the post, but Dave Cornwell struck twice before half-time to put Rangers in the driving seat.
Substitute Steve Pollard extended Ely's lead with a volley from the edge of the box, and Cornwell completed his hat-trick to make it 4-0 as Magpies had a player dismissed for violent conduct in the closing stages.
AFC Witchford were also in knock-out action as they entertained Haslingfield Sunday in the Shelford Energy Cup, but they failed to reach the last four after slumping to an 8-3 defeat.
