A JUNIOR team from Ely City Golf Club beat Saffron Walden Juniors in the final of the St Ives Junior Foursomes Cup.

The six-strong team was made up of Chloe Ashman, Sam Quarrier, Harry Beeton, captain Ryan Woods, Charlie Rhodes and Ashley Sizer.

A strong performance from Ely saw them win the coveted trophy by four points to two.

Ian Hart, Ely’s junior organiser, said: “The team performed admirably on the day and were deserved winners. We’ve rotated the squad across earlier rounds of this competition, which is a reflection of the strength and depth we have within the junior section at the club.

“The professional staff are working hard in conjunction with our commercial partners, Tucker Gardner, to offer reduced teaching packages and a variety of coaching activities enjoyed by our enthusiastic young players.”
